 Dungeon Post

You are taking the role of a postal worker for the Dungeon Post and must deliver the most important mail to an important customer because, as we say, all customers are important! Could your delivery bring you through the fiery halls of an ancient volcano? Maybe through the technological wasteland of a rogue AI gone bad?

This promises to be a fairly fast-paced solo game of dice rolling and allocation, managing your dice pool effectively, and trying to traverse through three different locations to deliver mail to three different customers. With the art and flavor you’d come to expect from the designer of Quest Over Coffee, you’ll find a lot of enjoyment in this base set – along with promises of future sets to expand upon this exciting game system.

 Stargather: A Cosmic Game

This game takes place in the heart of a galaxy. As you race to create stars, you will collect colorful stardust and form nebulas full of marvelous discoveries. Be the first to collect 7 stars to win the game.

An interesting game of collecting tokens from bags to form nebulas, in which you’re trying to gather enough stardust of the matching color in order to ignite the nebula and gain a star. With fairly easy rules to wrap your head around, and a wide spectrum of color, there’s some fun to be found here. Those who enjoy crafting tokens will delight at making textile items to draw from bags. And one of my favorite things is the inclusion of facts about space in the game’s rules!

GRIMLORE Case File #13: Elena Marconi, Folklorist

Elena Marconi, 34, is a student at Miskatonic University, specializing in American folklore. Born into a family with deep roots in the academic study of the supernatural, Elena’s fascination with myths and legends was nurtured from a young age. Her relentless pursuit of knowledge and truth has led her to numerous investigations of enigmatic phenomena across the country. In the dense Pine Barrens of New Jersey, folklore and reality intertwine as a series of mysterious disappearances plague the local community. Elena Marconi is dispatched to investigate. As she delves deeper, she uncovers evidence suggesting that the legendary Jersey Devil is not merely a myth but a manifestation of an strange entity…

I don’t know about this one, folks. The Jersey Devil is no slouch here, more than living up to its name and reputation. Why, you ask? It drops a damage per consonant placed in the current scenario. You read that right – and that means you’re going to either become very creative along the way or else want to deal with this threat as quickly as possible! How could someone, armed with something as threatening as University Funds, end up falling short? I suppose that’s up to you to find out this week!

 Dangerous Space: P2-77, Deliver Mission

P2-777 no longer endures the old nicknames the humans gave him. He’s earned his preferred moniker of Pete.

This mission is one of those that could go either way, based on die rolls. With a bit of luck, it could feel like a cake walk (as long as you don’t hold an unused booster…) as you work your way along with the kit. Take a bit of extra damage, though, and this could feel like a brutal gauntlet, especially given the span of spaces covered by the Elite Pirate in this one – and he shuts down your ability to use skills when he’s activated. Which equates to: good luck. May the dice roll in your favor, helping you to coast to a comfortable, yet slightly challenging, victory.

 Power Creep: Tank, Uptown 2099

The Radiation hasn’t dissipated as fast as some predicted. This forces many settlers to hole up in their shelters.

Tank has a pretty cool Blueprint ability that he brings to the experience, letting you circle numbers in your Vault as though there were in other active structures. That flexibility allows you to make easier use of his other Blueprint options, which will let you help reroll dice and/or reduce dice as you need. And you might need them to deal with the Oozes on these maps, since they are going to have you mark X’s next to items or crafting material for each undefeated Ooze on the map. With fewer items to assist you, those Blueprints are going to be essential for success!

Game of the Week: Chai on sale for just $4!

In Chai, you will step into the shoes of a tea merchant, combining tea flavours to make a perfect blend. Specializing in either rooibos, green, oolong, black, or white tea, you will buy and collect ingredients to fulfill your customers’ orders. Add money to completed card points to determine the best tea merchant!

If you haven’t tried Chai yet, what are you waiting for? It is one of the smoothest teas to drink, and the game is pretty close in experience. There’s a lot of fun in grabbing tea tiles - although the PNPer might have a challenging time coming up with something along the lines of an Azul-like tile in the right colors...but putting them onto cardboard or something similar can and will function well. It supports up to 6 players, has a solo mode, and a really short rulebook to make up for the component crafting you’ll need to do here.
