Reuben “Rube” Goldberg was an American cartoonist, sculptor, author, engineer, and inventor, remembered today for his cartoons depicting needlessly elaborate contraptions that perform simple tasks. These intricate collections of springs, marbles, pulleys, and countless other components are at once pointless and fascinating, silly and inspiring.
Rube is a tactical micro card game in which two players compete to build and control an increasingly complicated contraption. Each turn, you will add components to a shared elaborate machine by playing a single card from your hand. Depending on its orientation, each card can be played for its points or special action. While points ultimately win you the game, actions allow you to trigger chain reactions and manipulate the board to your advantage.
