A humorous adventure for Four Against Darkness, for Level 3 characters.

“Potatoes are the key to any war effort, any warlord will tell ya. I mean, you’ve gotta feed all those marchin’ gits, right? The problem comes when the taters take a life of their own. Especially when they get into reciting poetry. T.S Eliot, even.”

The agricultural town of Kartoffelheim shivers under the rule of the Warlord and his orc legions. The orc and goblin town feeds his mighty armies all the way to the rainforest.

As far as warped warmasters go, that one is not too bad – he doesn’t kill without cause like the humans do and would rather enslave a peasant to farm potatoes rather than make an undead slave of him. His taxes are quite reasonable at 90% – that’s ten times less than those Dorantian serfs!

Some unfortunate magical mayhap, or maybe mischief, caused the Warlord’s entire potato plantations to start spewing sad poetry all day. Find who or what is responsible, make the potatoes stop talking, then report to the goblinogre herald Tartaglia for your reward – an easy job for 300 gold.

Requires only the Four Against Darkness book and a smile.
