Four Against Darkness: Mountainous Mayhem
Here be mountain adventures! Had enough of dank dungeons? Or are you looking to generate the world outside of them? Explore the mountain wilderness with this new supplement for Four Against Darkness.
Okay, so there’s a LOT of stuff in this supplement. Tables, mounts, quests, milestones, rules, floor tiles, and so much more! Generate new classes, such as bear folk, chronomancers, dark elves, fish people, half-orcs, moose folk, tree folk, and more. Discover over 50 new monsters, including dark elf dominatrixes (that’s a change from your standard goblin fare!). It comes with nine special narrative missions, expanding your game and only requires the core book in order to enjoy the content found within. Seriously, folks. This is going to be quite the addition to your Four Against Darkness adventures.
Roar and Write
The Animal Kingdom Selection Council has convened to choose their new ruler, and it’s up to you to appease the five council members in order to win that title. The catch… each council member prefers different offerings, so you must choose wisely as you can only appeal to one of them each Age.
Don’t get this confused with a roll-and-write game, because this one has a bit more noise backing it. Okay, so it’s a standard roll-and-write, but with animals and cards. You’re trying to meet the goals of the council members, and you’re doing so by using the same pool of die rolls as everyone else. Those six dice get rolled 3 times, and depending on when you finish using numbers you may get some bonus points for being early. The solo mode is particularly interesting, with missions you can use as criteria (in addition to your score) of whether or not you win and get to move on to the next mission.
Roar and Write: Deep Dive
The Deep Dive sheet pack gives you a new way to play Roar and Write, with new scoring opportunities and new council members to impress. Can you impress the council so that they choose you to rule the Kingdoms of the Deep?
This one adds only a few new components, but you’ll need the new sheets to track on in order to use the expansion. The biggest wrinkle here comes from the use of numbers in your kingdom, which adds some interesting decisions and might require you to push your luck just a little more than the normal game. It even gives you recommended setups for skill level, integrating this with the base game. While it might be small in component size, there’s an ocean of gameplay hidden in the deeps!
Unsurmountable (Kickstarter Preview)

You’ve climbed all of the mightiest mountains: Kilimanjaro, Everest, K2. Yet there’s one towering titan that’s always eluded you. The mountain where anything can happen. In the whisper-thin air the paths twist and shift as you climb, stranding the unprepared and confounding the overconfident. Do you have what it takes to summit this perilous peak?
In Unsurmountable, players will be tackling the rocky slopes of an ever-changing mountain. As the game unfolds, they must place the next piece of the path carefully in order to complete a route to the top while simultaneously meeting any additional goals for the round. It may sound like a walk in the park, but this puzzle has plenty of pitfalls to keep players on their toes.
