Iron Helm Adventure Pack 5: Throne of Embers
Rumors are afloat of majestic treasures deep within the mines of Talora. But those same tales tell of a monstrous creature far below the surface made of fire itself!
Like so many of the other packs for Iron Helm, this one offers an easy way to alter your game experience without going through too much effort. Swapping out two enemy types and three plots and you’re off and running to face down the Fire Elemental…if you survive long enough. A new hero awaits you in the pack, and you might need every bit of resilience you can muster to survive the swarms of Fire Bats and Lizardkin you’ll encounter along the way, as they hit you with some pretty nasty things. But, of course, that’s nothing compared to the boss who can burn the items right off you. Thankfully, this isn’t your first quest in Iron Helm, but rather one to play after finishing the base game, so you might have at least a little wisdom going into this perilous adventure.
Dark Space Quest
Travel through space to seek out elements that will let you go back home safely. Face enemies you meet and do not lose your route using the special warp drive.
A fun little adventure that has a really fun mechanic that more print and play games could use: folding the map as you explore to uncover new routes to new destinations. It’s a fast-playing game with a bit of luck in the battles you encounter, but is perfect as a fill-in game when you are sitting on a lunch break or sipping your morning coffee. If you’re looking for a solo game with very little construct time, but don’t want another roll-and-write game, this might be a great one to pick up and play.
Dungeon Pages: Krete & Kreeg, Notorious Bards
Elder school was the deal the magistrate cut with the brothers in order to keep them out of the dungeon. Now they must pay their debt to the clergy, whose steeple they burned, and the stableman whose stallion they polymorphed, and the princess…
One of the coolest twists in the game has arrived in this newest release. A lot of times it is the character, or one of the bosses, that really makes you take notice, but this week see that trap. The Deceiver only appears on one of the maps, but it has a chance to make you rue its very existence, forcing you to traverse to the other side of the room in order to move forward. And you’ll really want to avoid that, as this dungeon can take its toll whittling down your health through attrition from the Berserk Guards, who get stronger as you defeat their kindred.

Game of the Week: Micro Dojo on sale for just $4!
You are one of two Daimyo - feudal lords of Edo Japan - tasked by the Shogun to bring prosperity to a small town. Carefully manoeuvre the town’s retainers to gather resources, build buildings, complete the Shogun’s tasks, and win favour. The most prosperous Daimyo will be granted the title to the town.
Move around the board and execute actions to gain resources, build buildings, and/or score points. The neat trick here is you are moving space-to-space on a board and have two people to move, and you have to alternate between them. This means laying long-term and short-term plans on how to do what you need in order to defeat your opponent. Additional rules are included for advanced experiences, and this nice little 2-player game comes with really short rules to get you up and playing in no time.
